ORGANIZATION
The Milwaukee Partnership Academy (MPA) is a PK-16 Council of education, labor, business, government, university, foundation, parent and community groups. The MPA includes a group of core members (the Executive Partners), who are the leaders of their organizations, and a variety of other partner organizations. The work of the MPA is carried out through an Executive Director, working under the direction of the Executive Partners. Details of MPA initiatives are worked on through the Implementation Team, which includes appointed representatives from participating organizations, and through work groups, which include volunteers from partner organizations.
The Organization Model (click to download pdf) for the Milwaukee Partnership Academy (MPA) was created as a result of a two-day retreat of all the MPA partners. It provides a way of visually expressing the structure that has evolved over the life of the MPA.
The following is a brief description of each of the components of the model.
Executive Partners
This group is composed of the leaders of the core partners of the MPA. This group provides the ongoing direction and overarching goals and objectives for the work of the MPA.
Office of the Executive Director
This includes the Executive Director of the MPA and other support staff for the MPA.
MPA Fiscal Agent
The Executive Partner that oversees the MPA financial accounts.
Partners
The Partners group currently includes over 40 different organizations and agencies, most of which are in the Milwaukee area. They meet quarterly and often have some members of their organizations or agencies participate in an MPA work group.
Implementation Team
The Implementation Team provides the input for the day-to-day work of the MPA. The Implementation Team is responsible for taking the goals and objectives that have been identified for the MPA and developing the strategies to accomplish these goals and objectives. The Implementation Team includes all the co-chairs of the MPA Work Groups and other appointed members.
Work Groups
The Work Groups develop and implement the yearly work plans to reach the MPA goals and objectives. The membership of each work group includes individuals in key leadership roles in the partner organizations of the MPA.
Metropolitan Milwaukee Area Deans of Education (Deans Group)
The Deans Group meets monthly to discuss how higher education can support the goals and objectives of the MPA. They provide feedback and support to the Executive Partners, the Implementation Team and the Work Groups.
