HBCU Conference
Location: Milwaukee, WI
A forum for the Deans of the Schools of Education of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Program will include discussion of President Barack Obama’s early childhood education initiatives led by Linda Smith of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – Administration for Children and Families (ACF). Tours of several Milwaukee Public Schools; a roundtable discussion with MPS Superintendent, Dr. Gregory Thornton, and his leadership team; and introductions to the MPS Board of School Directors and their President, Dr. Michael Bonds, are also featured.
Accommodations and meals will be provided by the host, Milwaukee Education Partnership. Transportation to and from Milwaukee is the obligation of the participant.
